The Luxury Collection

Starwood Hotels is expanding their portfolio of refined luxury hotels into Europe with the opening of four new establishments.

The new additions, Augustine in Prague, Caresse Resort & Spa in Bodrum, Falisia Resort & Spa in Portopiccolo, Italy and Grand Hotel River Park in Bratislava, will be added to the firm’s illustrious Luxury Collection, which will surpass 100 hotels in elegant locations around the world by the end of this year.

The full plethora of four new hotels will be open by the end of this month, with each picturesquely situated and sumptuously furnished to provide guests with the ultimate luxury hotel experience. Visitors are treated to magnificent, regal decor, spectacular settings, impeccable service and the latest modern conveniences designed to create lasting, wonderful memories.

Hoyt H. Harper II, the Global Brand Leader for the Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, demonstrated the unique nature of the Luxury Collection and the Starwood’s dedication to growing this portfolio in his comments on the new openings.

‘There is enormous untapped potential for The Luxury Collection; and with these new hotel openings, Starwood is putting a stake in the ground for The Luxury Collection to become the world’s largest luxury hotel brand by year’s end. Owners of independent luxury hotels are finding tremendous value in Starwood’s powerful distribution, loyalty and sales platforms; and this announcement reinforces that The Luxury Collection is a brand that celebrates the unique character of each of its hotels while driving greater returns.’

Michael Wale, the President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and Middle East echoed this in his statement.

‘We look forward to building a long-term relationship with our owner partners with each of these exciting projects under The Luxury Collection brand as we continue to grow in both established and emerging destinations in Europe. Growing in lockstep with the increasing global demand for luxury, Starwood remains focused on working with the right partners on the right properties in destinations emblematic of new luxury travel trends.’

Several of the new resorts have already been established by their owners and are being adopted into the collection, whereas others are being exclusively developed for Starwood.

‘We continue to see new-build opportunities in the region, such as Caresse and Falisia, which are part of multi-unit developments. At the same time, conversions remain a key part of our growth strategy, enabling us to add established hotels, such as Augustine and Grand Hotel River Park into the Starwood system. With these new additions to The Luxury Collection, the brand will boast 43 unique hotels and resorts in Europe’ Bart Carnahan, Senior Vice President Acquisition & Development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Europe, Africa & Middle East remarked.

The hotels boast a number of exuberant leisure facilities, such as the extensive 17,000 square foot spa, offering ESPA products and relaxing treatment, yacht used for private excursions and indoor and outdoor pools present at Caresse in Bodrum.

The spectacular natural beauty of the glorious natural setting these hotels are situated in is enhanced and exemplified by the refined architecture and decedent furnishings offered by the hotels.
