Recently, LUXlife were welcomed into the humble inn where we discovered more about the charming décor, tried the delicious food and soaked up the idyllic location.

A 17th century country pub, with rooms and excellent dining situated in the lovely English countryside, moments from Highclere Castle, the Yew Tree Inn over the years has built a respectable reputation within the location community, as well as further afield, for their exceptionally high standard of delicious food and outstanding service.

Speaking of the heavenly dishes the Yew Tree Inn has to serve, the fine establishment have built a reputation for themselves as serving an outstanding food – which can be supported by their recent accolade additions of two AA Rosettes. With a wonderful kitchen team who create delightful dishes, which have been crafted from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Each of the chefs at the Yew Tree Inn draw their inspiration for the innovative cuisines that feature on the menu from the beautiful English countryside which surrounds the quaint pub. As such, guests should expect to feast upon fresh fish and game which has been plucked straight from the surrounding forests and rivers located nearby.

Named after a variety of trees which can be found within the surrounding forests and woodlands of the pub, each one of the rooms have been designed with both comfort and relaxation for guests in mind.

All of the rooms are doubles, each being handsomely decorated with William Morris printed wallpaper, timber beams and warm tartan blankets, creating that quintessential country cottage feel.

If you want to go and explore the surrounding areas, aside from the stunning countryside views, you can go visit the Sandam Memorial Chapel, home to some of the most truly striking murals, which took a staggering six years to create. In addition to this, you can also go and visit Highclere Castle, known as being the site for the popular television show Downton Abbey.
