Located just a 30-minute drive from Doha’s City Centre, Sealine Beach, a Murwab Resort, is a world-leading example of hospitality and refined taste. In November, the resort was recognised in LUXlife Magazine’s End of Year Feature as the ‘Best Luxury Accommodation’ in the state of Qatar. We spoke with Mr. Nawaf Ali Al-Obaidly, General Manager at Sealine, to find out more about how they have redefined true luxury.
The Middle East has always been the region of choice when it comes to experiencing the finer things life has to offer. The State of Qatar, the world’s richest country per capita, offers experiences that can be found nowhere else on earth – its vast deserts and miles of coastline an enticing gift for those that can bear the heat.
Close to Doha’s futuristic and unmistakable skyline is Sealine Beach, a 5-star resort with over sixty sea-view luxury villas. With its statement Qatari elegance – a celebration of clean lines – the resort offers experiences that should not be missed for those that are visiting the area. To start the interview, Nawaf takes a moment to discuss the resort’s endless appeal: “Located in the southern part of Qatar, a mere 30-minute drive from Doha’s City Centre, is Sealine Beach, a Murwab Resort. The resort’s unique location is complimented by a diverse array of world-class activities and entertainment facilities with a backdrop of scenic views of the Arabian Desert’s dunes and pristine beaches. Over the resort’s sixty sea-view villas, comprising of spacious chalets, Royal Villas, and executive suites that embrace a wide variety of in-room services, reinforcing the resort’s status as Qatar’s premier leisure destination for tourists and local vacationers alike.”
From the outset, it is clear that Sealine Beach aims for nothing short of perfection in every facet of the client experience, with a keen focus on going above and beyond the expectations of their discerning guests. This is an establishment that treats hospitality as if it was art – a thing to be polished, nurtured and honed. “We have implemented procedures to help in our pursuit of excellence. We have a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), a set of written instructions for each department respectively, maintaining quality and consistency of service and standards in our resort. We also have a policy of ‘listening’. Our client are also our critics, so from upper management to the service and maintenance teams, we value all comments. Ultimately, Sealine has been built on a dedication to continuous innovation, development and training alongside unwavering employer commitment, from the top of the hierarchy to the very bottom.”
On the subject of Sealine’s team, Nawaf moves to discuss the resort’s culture and ethos: “We are immensely grateful for the experienced and dedicated team we have, and the ownership that they take in their jobs here. The development and use of our SOPs are an integral part of our successful quality system, as it provides individuals with the framework to perform, and facilitates consistency in the quality and integrity of a product and service. It is also crucial that all newly recruited employees receive training on our resort’s SOP.”
Over the last ten years, the luxury hotel and hospitality industry has boomed in the Middle East. Conversely, in other parts of the world, Airbnb and shared business economies has dampened sector growth. On the back of this boom, Sealine Beach has thrived: “We certainly keep our eyes on all trends and market insights, which are positive, and in-line with the National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030. The expectation is high growth and all elements such as investment in travel and tourism, visitor number and Travel and Tourism contributions to GDP, which is expected to grow by 8.7% per annum. At Sealine Beach, a Murwab Resort, we are following these trends while focusing on our own path. We aim to show the world that Qatar is not just ready to host the next world cup in 2022; we want to prove to the world that we are going to exceed their expectations.”
Of course, it would be remiss to suggest that it has been all plain sailing for Sealine Beach. Yet, as Nawaf is eager to discuss, they embrace each challenge in the knowledge that they have the experience and expertise to overcome them and adapt. “Challenges always exist within any successful industry. We have always overcome our challenges through our continuous innovation and development. For example, we have expanded our property with sixteen Executive Villas, and two exclusive ‘Royal Villas’ with indoor private pools. Both villa types are multi-storey, with four bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen, embracing a spectacular garden, private barbeque area and direct access to the beach. Equally, for the second consecutive year, our resort has been awarded the Continent Winner: Luxury Beach Villa at the World Luxury Hotel Awards. We have also been certified with the ISO 22000 for excellence in food management standards.”
“In line with Qatar’s international outreach to provide the best tourist attractions, the National Tourism Council has engaged in an enterprising Memorandum of Understanding, with our resort undertaking management of the Al Enna Project.”
By all considerations, Sealine Beach utilises the latest cutting-edge technologies to help create the perfect guest experiences. “We continuously innovate and use most of the latest Wi-Fi and infrastructure technologies. Such as, Digital conference facilities, Mobile Communications, automation, NFC technology, smart room keys, entertainment on tap, feedback on social media, converged LANs to support multiple services and offer an integrated and seamless experience. In the near future, we are looking to launch robotics and infrared sensors to offer more futuristic and refined experienced to our valued clients.”
“We are looking forward to welcoming you soon at Sealine Beach, A Murwab Resort, in Qatar.”
Sealine Beach’s future can be defined by this innovation, as they look towards preserving their leading position in an increasingly competitive, and ever-growing, market.
