114 Lisman Studio is a full-scale interior design studio that specialises in commercial and residential interior design. In June, the studio was recognised in LUXlife Magazine’s 2018 Leading Designer Awards programme with the title of Build Design Excellence Award in Commercial Interior Design, for the state of Utah. On the back of this achievement, we spoke to LaMar Lisman, Principal Interior Designer, to find out how the studio has become one of the expert voices in interior design. LaMar Lisman, who has been recognised as one of the top 50 design professionals working in North America today, starts the interview by defining the qualities of great designers, “A great designer should be able to work with a client’s input and achieve a successful completion of their project, on time and on budget. Anyone can throw money at a project, but it takes talent and skill to exceed a client’s expectations within the budget they provide. “Great design should be effortless. It should feel natural, comforting and never forced.The best compliment to good design is that it inspires the people who live and work within it.” With that in mind, and with consideration of Lisman’s expert designers, it is likely that a client will find the perfect match among them; “Not every client is the perfect fit for every design professional, but at Lisman Studio our variety of design professionals, each with their own unique design background and taste, are perfectly suited to our broad portfolio of clients and prospective clients. We stand at the ready to tackle any project, regardless of size or budget.” Indeed, when it comes to Lisman’s approach to new clients, LaMar emphasises the importance of seamless collaboration; “Client involvement is critical. Furniture can’t just look good, it now must also adapt to technology as well. Even the way people sit and work at their desks has changed in the last five years, and continues to evolve.
