That is the core belief behind Notes of Life, which has been named in LUXlife as the Best Keyboard Player 2020 – North East England. Remembering the forgotten generations and teaching the newest generations of musical talent, Notes of Life is a reminder of the beauty of music at times when only the best music will do. Gentle soothing tones or powerful anthems of joy; this dynamic duo can do it all. For many people, events are determined by certain factors. Keyboard player Richard Ellis Hawley, the primary figure at Notes of Life, first discovered his love for the piano aged just eight. Fast-forward ten years, and Richard found himself working as a professional musician. Self-teaching himself how to play the organ, Richard also benefitted from three lessons with renowned organist Chris Powell at Baycourt on the mighty Wurlitzer. Drawing on his thirty years of experience in a brass band, Richard brings an unparalleled appreciation and understanding of music and how it all comes together. Now studying B.A Music Top Up at Sunderland University, Richard’s desire to make sure that all events have the music they deserve is insatiable. As a pianist, organist, and keyboard player, Richard’s skills are amongst some of the finest that weddings and events across the North East and West of England have seen in a very long time. Playing everything from weddings and funerals, to drinks receptions and summer balls, to birthday, anniversary, Christmas and kid parties, Richard has cultivated a reputation for himself and Notes of Life as being someone who truly appreciates the power of music to enhance an event where emotions sometimes overpower words. Supporting Richard, is Rowen the MC for Notes of Life concerts. Throughout the years, Rowen has been a Mar20251 tremendous help behind the scenes, helping to Richard to organise and set up events. Whether it’s a soothing rock ballad to bid farewell, or an iconic pop track to walk out of a wedding to, or a smooth jazz track for that perfect first dance, Notes of Life delivers in ways that words never could. The music for any event should be perfect, let alone a wedding day. There, it should be everything the bride and groom have ever dreamed of, and Notes of Life is determined to make it happen.
