For pigmentation or veins, IPL light pulses break down the pigmentation into tiny particles which rise to the skin’s surface and are naturally exfoliated away. The light pulses are also used to heat red veins to a point where they are destroyed, and the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body.
