Even among the archetypal beauty of French Polynesia – all sapphire waters and idyllic alabaster beaches – K restaurant manages to stand out as something unique and special. In many ways, K restaurant represents a duality on multiple fronts. Like the region as a whole, it manages to perfectly capture an equilibrium between natural beauty and man-made refinement. Its open-air arrangement would, in other establishments, seem at odds with its intimate romanticism, but here it is pulled off with a certain seamlessness. It is rustic with its sandy floors and thatched roof, but undoubtedly luxurious with elegance found in the architecture, decoration and atmosphere. Guests are directed towards tables lit with tealights and candles, inviting other senses to take over, elevating the total culinary experience. At K, Executive Chef Marc Lintanf delights with his unique take on French cuisine, experimenting with tried and true ingredients to create gastronomical journeys, fit for the most discerning of palettes and well-travelled gourmets.
