The relatively young festival draws its inspiration and artistic direction from 5,000 years of Celtic history and culture, adding to the long line of Celtic tradition by itself becoming a tradition as the largest annual Celtic festival in Western Canada. Indeed, the majority of the staff involved with the festival are of Celtic descent themselves, and take great pride in the exceptional and varied presentations of Celtic heritage. Having been raised with these traditions, they are passionate about sharing their knowledge of Celtic history and culture and engaging members of the public who eager to learn more. Today, the award-winning festival is known across the world thanks to growing attendance and significant media coverage. CelticFest Vancouver Society The Best of Celtic Culture impressions worldwide, a staggering statistic that gave a brief outline of what was yet to come. Each year, the team at CelticFest consider how they can make next year’s festival even bigger and better, constantly sourcing Celtic talent that they can bring centre stage in Western Canada’s largest celebration of the culture. This year, the team is faced with their biggest challenge yet and is working hard to make the festival just as spectacular as ever, despite the ongoing pandemic. Just like many others working in the hospitality industry, the impacts of Covid-19 have been significant and whilst digital platforms have been a lifeline for these businesses, they are rarely as good as in- person interaction. However, CelticFest is not to be deterred in their mission to bring the best of Celtic culture to Vancouver and will be continuing the 2021 celebrations through entirely virtual mediums. The line-up will be launched very soon and we cannot wait to see what the team at CelticFest have got lined up for the fifteenth annual CelticFest festivities.
