20 Sep22522 33 Apr22624 A Little Drop of Paradise by The Ocean Opening its doors in 2016, the Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort & Spa is one of Indonesia’s best known holiday spots, earning it the title of Best Luxury Dive Resort, 2022. Indeed, Bunaken Oasis strives for quality, both on land and in the sea. As a result, the esteemed resort truly shows what Bunaken, Indonesia has to offer. ‘Best diving holiday we have ever had!’ are the words used by guests to describe their time at Bunaken Oasis, a five-star dive resort located in Indonesia. Whilst many hotels make claims that they are suitable for divers, there are very few resorts which are dedicated to providing a 5*luxury experience both on the land and on the sea. Bunaken Oasis aims to be the best of them. Moreover, it believes in giving back to the community, and endeavours to make a positive impact on the area and in the communities in which it operates. Bunaken Oasis, therefore, pays all staff at least the government minimum salary and undertakes a number of philanthropic initiatives aimed at enriching the lives of its employees and the wider community. The hotel believes that its team is a fundamental part of its operations, and subsequently, its success. Without them, the resort would simply be a collection of boats, villas, and equipment, and this is reflected in the reviews of the resort. Guests rave about the staff members and the service that they have received. To quote a TripAdvisor review, ‘I should mention the team who we found to be, without exception, polite, caring, efficient and utterly focused on making sure we were looked after in every way. It seems unfair to single out individuals as, in their own way, everyone was superb. […] the whole team were constantly trying to ensure we were happy, comfortable, and safe. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE TEAM WHO MAKE THIS PLACE WHAT IT IS.’ Not only is the team of exceptional quality, but the resort boasts an impressive range of amenities, including an on-site, full-service technical diving facility and training centre. The resort offers 12 comfortable, traditionally-built villas, including one family-sized villa with two bedrooms, and one easily accessible villa. However, Bunaken Oasis’ focal point is its free form infinity pool, which includes sun loungers and easy access to the bar. Despite the resort’s great amount of success, the Covid-19 pandemic threatened to greatly impact its business. The tourism industry on a whole was deeply shaken. Bunaken Oasis’ doors closed for two years; however, it retained all of its team members, albeit through a reduction of hours. During this turbulent time, Bunaken Oasis delved into a range of projects, and worked to make improvements to its infrastructure and equipment. Bunaken Oasis survived this ordeal, as such, in 2022 it will be shifting its focusing towards rebuilding the momentum it acquired prior to the outbreak. Before COVID, Bunaken Oasis was consolidating its position in the market; this year, it will continue that work.
