On the subject of her team, Debra continues: “We are a small team, but dedicated and committed to providing a professional and honest service. We make sure we update our knowledge on an ongoing basis by attending industry events, CPDs, fairs and seminars. Debra spends some time discussing the challenges and opportunities that have arisen over the last year. The interior design industry is awash with a plethora of talented companies and individuals. As such, competition for each project is tough – especially with the challenge of the stagnant housing market, the tough economic climate and the affect of stamp duty on the public moving to a new house. However, in this challenging market, more people are looking to develop, update, renovate or extend their homes. dk INTERIORS has risen to the challenges in 2018 by focusing on what we do best, which is to provide a personal, professional and creative service.” Debra believes these challenges look set to continue as the sector moves into the new year: “Uncertainty in the housing market will be a continued challenge, but again we are confident we can continue to grow in the market.” Finally, Debra takes a moment to comment on the future of dk INTERIORS, as it looks towards continuing their year on year growth. “We are growing every year: the projects have become larger and more complex. With our relationships with suppliers – suppliers we can rely on, trust, and develop with – being key to our ongoing growth. This year our aim is to widen our supplier base, introducing a ‘freshness’ into our designs.
