New Year 2019

27 Victoria Gray is a professional wedding and portrait photographer based in the market town of Brigg, North Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom. In December, Victoria Gray Photography was recognised in LUXlife Magazine’s 2019 Best of the Wedding Industry Awards as the ‘Most Trusted Wedding Photography Service’ for Doncaster. We were eager to speak to Victoria to find out more about her expertise and services. Wedding photography is a notoriously difficult sector to succeed in. It requires a dedication to quality, and a drive to exceed already incredibly high expectations – after all, people want every facet of their ‘big day’ to be perfect. In some ways, wedding photographers have to capture lighting in a bottle, and only the very best manage to distinguish themselves in this competitive industry. Saying that, Victoria Gray is, by all regards, one of the best photographers in the business, impressing with her razor- honed talent and years of experience - as her many flawless client testimonials would attest to. Victoria begins by offering some context to her work and experience. “I’m a professional wedding and portrait photographer with a studio based in the little market town of Brigg in North Lincolnshire. I’ve shot well over 50 Weddings in the past 4 years. Ultimately, I love taking photos of people, getting to know them and capturing the essence of them. My clients always become good friends, I love to catch up with my now married couples when they return for shoots as their families grow. As such, my business is primarily run on word of mouth. For me, the most important thing is a recommendation from a happy client.” On that, Victoria continues, describing her award-winning approach to client service. More than anything, Victoria believes that a personalised service is essential, ensuring that every need is accounted for. “Every couple that comes to me is treated individually. After all, every person is unique, and every wedding will be different. I offer bespoke packages with plenty of options to cater to every budget. In terms of service, I’m never too busy for my couples if they need to get in touch with any questions, worries or even if they need help with their wedding arrangements. I endeavour to make sure that my service is completely personalised, and I try to go the extra mile so that my client’s day runs smoothly.” Though Victoria has typically worked alone, she recently recruited her mother, Carol, to join her as a second shooter, allowing her to permanently Dec18597 expand the studio’s offering to include maternity, new born and baby photography in addition to her work at weddings. “Before I started doing weddings, my mum and dad had their own part time wedding photography business. I assisted with a few weddings on occasion to further my experience, building on the passion for photography that I had found during college. I’ve always particularly loved shooting portraits and with the help of family and friends kindly offering themselves as my models, I finally had the confidence to start my own business doing what I love in 2014.” Naturally, the topic of competition soon arises - The wedding industry is a lucrative business and is only growing year on year. As such, a talent for client-centricity becomes a key differentiator, as Victoria explains further: “There are so many wedding photographers in my local area. It can feel a little bit cramped at times when everyone is fighting to get into the local Wedding fayres, and it can be especially overwhelming for a couple seeking a wedding photographer. I believe though that each photographer has their own style and approach, all offering different things and the best way to choose is to meet them in person. Wedding photography is incredibly personal, and I will be with the client all day, so it is important that we’re all on the same page – that they get along and feel comfortable with me, trusting that I will capture what they want and more.” “But, I always seem to attract my perfect client, someone who wants beautiful, natural moments captured in a documentary style. My clients have become special friends by the time they get married, and so my photos reflect the pride, emotion and excitement I feel of being a part of their special day.” Finally, Victoria comments on the future of her business and the opportunities for further growth over the upcoming year. “With the recent addition of my specialist baby photographer Carol we can now offer more to our clients. I will also be doing more fashion inspired shoots, editorials and lifestyle sessions alongside wedding photography. Lastly, my new website launches at the end of January, which will have guides available to download with tips and advice when booking a shoot for a wedding, as well as contact forms and an updated blog section that will have behind the scenes information and further insight into my work.” Contact: Victoria Gray Address: 2 School Court Road, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, DN20 8JW, United Kingdom Website: www.victoriagrayphotography.com Art Picture Perfect Photography
