Summer 2019

66 Whether for a FamilyVacation or Romantic Retreat, Milton Farm Lodges Delights in Rustic Luxury Nestled in picturesque Scottish countryside, Milton Farm Lodges has curated an almost peerless reputation for a seamless sort of luxury experience. Following their recognition in LUXlife’s 2019 Global Luxury Hotel & Spa Awards, where Milton Farm was named ‘Perthshire's Most Outstanding Luxury Accommodation’, we endeavoured to find out more. Cottages are becoming an increasingly popular option for couples and families looking for a more rustic touch to their standard luxury excursions. Equally, in this digitally-driven age, luxury has become defined by wellness and relaxation. Many aren’t looking for city breaks anymore – they are going further afield, searching for new experiences, new horizons to explore. In this new world, Milton Farm Lodges in Perthshire have become a shining example of rural luxury done just right . Across their four luxury self-catered lodges - temptingly named Apple Tree, Plum Tree, Bluebell and Snowdrop – guests are sure to find something to fall in love with. Despite the setting, the lodges are utterly contemporary in nature, embracing a soft sort of Scottish hospitality, adorned with warm colours and homely finishes. In this Owner Janice Sands has sought to go above and beyond, ensuring that guests have everything they need to have an exceptional experience in one of her cottages. Indeed, though the cottages are self-catered as a default, in-house catering is an available option. Moreover, with 24-hour parking, Wi-Fi internet, day-care services and dog-sitting all available, Milton Farm is as much about convenience as it is about modern luxury. It would be remiss to skip over the lodges themselves, as they all offer something special and unique for any potential guest. Apple Tree Lodge, which can sleep six across three double bedrooms, offers the perfect base for a family vacation. It’s open plan living room and kitchen are decidedly contemporary, with a welcoming vibe that extends into every room. Plum Tree Lodge is similar, neighbouring Apple Tree and again offering more than enough space to comfortably accommodate six guests. More recent are the additions of Bluebell Lodge and Snowdrop Lodge, expanding Milton Farm’s offerings comfortably onto a decidedly more romantic stage. Smaller than their older cousins, but more intimate, Bluebell and Snowdrop double down on the cosier elements. Think wood burning stoves and hot tubs wrapped in archetypal Scottish hospitality. However, unlike Snowdrop, Bluebell doesn’t have disabled access due to its location – hidden away in the hillside. All in all, every lodge on the property seeks to sate even the most discerning of tastes, with no expense spared on the ‘added extras’. It’s a wonderful mix between convenience, luxury, modernity and relaxation, providing the perfect excuse to sit back and enjoy everything that Milton Farm Lodges has to offer.
