Weekend Trip

Weekend trips, both nationally and internationally, are a favourite pastime for many of us. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, many reading this and beyond have been unable to travel anywhere. It has certainly been a long eighteen months!

With Coronavirus restrictions lifted across all four nations in the UK, we feel confident many out there are itching to get out and about once more, including travelling here, there, and everywhere. Last-minute weekends away are on the cards, but what do you have to remember when planning one? Read on to find out.

1. Establish Where You Want to Go

If you are anything like us, this is the most challenging part of planning a getaway, especially when we have been unable to travel in recent months! Your places to visit list is sure to have increased; now is the time to start chipping away at it!

Figure out whether you want to travel within the UK or abroad, and from here, you can narrow down your options. Think about what you want to do in these places and whether there is a specific venue or establishment that you want to visit on this weekend away.

2. Make a Note of What You Need to Take

We have all fallen victim to an overweight suitcase on more than one occasion! Undeniably one of the more frustrating parts of travelling, this is something that you need to pay close attention to, whether you are travelling abroad or not.

Packing lightly is the best way to go. However, knowing what clothes or outfits you are going to take is a whole new ball game. For the most part, you might have outfits in your wardrobe that have not seen the light of day. On the other hand, you could even treat yourself to a set of new outfits, especially for this trip!

If you have left planning to the very last minute, you will most likely need to find next day delivery clothes. You needn’t worry about looking drab on your weekend away, that’s for sure!

3. Who Are You Going With?

Generally speaking, this is an easy question to answer when planning a last-minute weekend away. Whether you have planned this with your partner or with the girls in your group chat, knowing who you are going away with as soon as possible will make everything else run smoother.

While it is not the be-all and end-all of planning your trip, it gives you a better idea of what types of activities you will get up to. Whether it is heading for bottomless brunch or to an art gallery and museum, you will most likely need to book in advance, especially in this day and age.

Overall, these are but a handful of the factors you will need to consider when planning a last-minute getaway. No matter where you or going or how long you are going for, we hope you have the best time! After all, we all deserve some niceties after the tumultuous times of late!
