The global pandemic has paused our usual leisurely activities and has led to us learning to enjoy the things we love in different ways. Wine is one of those pleasures which we’ve only been able to enjoy at home until recently, and now you can appreciate the vino even more from the comfort of your own home with a virtual wine tasting- and if you’re lucky you could win one for free. Whether you’re a serious wine connoisseur or just love to drink vino and enjoy yourself with friends, wine lovers across the UK can now take part in a virtual wine tasting.
This is thanks to Unique Wine Safaris. The company usually offer wine holidays which tour famous vineyards in France, Italy and Spain, however due to COVID-19 the company have had to suspend all travel until 2021. Alternatively, the company have teamed up with their exclusive wine growers to offer weekly virtual wine tasting sessions.
The wine tastings enable wine lovers to learn about the history of the vineyard, how the wine is made, what flavours are present and advice on food pairing. The online event also provides an evening of entertainment with guest speakers, games and competitions.
How Do Virtual Wine Tastings Work?
- Simply book the weekly events as advertised here or request a bespoke event and choose the wine or region of your choice.
- You will receive 3 x 75cl bottles of wine sent to your home, enough for 5 guests, family and friends.
- The Zoom invitation will be sent prior to the wine tasting.
- Each virtual wine tasting will last approximately one hour.
- All events are hosted by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic wine expert who will keep you entertained. You can even meet and chat to the wine grower.
- After the event you can then order a mixed case of the wine sampled at special offer prices.

For your chance to win 3 bottles of fine wine and a virtual wine tasting worth £75, all you need to do is:

The competition ends at 00:00 BST on the 31st August 2020, and the winner will subsequently be announced at 12:00 BST on the 2nd September 2020.
There are also three runner-up prizes of a bottle of wine (worth £12).
All competition entrants must be 18 or over. Identification may be required if selected as the winner or one of the runners up.
The winner and the 3 runners up will be contacted once selected, either by a Facebook or Instagram direct message depending on which platform you entered on. Here, we will take your name, email, and address for the wine to be delivered and the virtual event invite to be sent.
