Best Handcrafted Jewellery Designer - New Zealand-New Zealand Luu Studio-Luzette Godinez LŪU STUDIO features the work of jewellery designer Luzette Godinez, a Mexican native now based in New Zealand. The brand aesthetic invokes a ‘modern-meets-nature’ concept that is inspired by visual art, ancient cultures, geometry, geological shapes, architectural lines and textures that are connected to her design background and culture. With a Graphic and Industrial Design background, after several years of exploring her creative boundaries and defining her own concepts, she found out about her preference to design and create physical pieces with her own hands, exploring materials, building objects, furniture and working with tools to transform them through the creating stages. She didn't find her way into the world of metals until a couple of years after she moved to New Zealand in 2011 when she embarked in a number of silversmithing and metal casting courses in Auckland. She creates metal jewellery pieces that are both sculptural and wearable. From her studio in Auckland, LŪU designs and creates each piece to be worn by confident and modern individuals who appreciate everyday statement jewellery. All the pieces are carefully hand fabricated by the designer, one by one, with a great attention to detail, resulting in a unique and one of a kind piece. There is an ever-growing interest from New Zealand consumers in products that are hand fabricated and it is becoming more evident that consumers are looking for unique, less-conventional pieces.
