The small team of core festival staff work year-round to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly for VanWineFest. Understanding the mandate and mission of the firm is key in delivering consistently excellent festival events for more than four decades. Not content to rest on their laurels however, staff, board and committees review company policies annually, and organisers are always on the lookout for ways to improve the guest experience at the festival. VanWineFest also acts as a significant fundraiser, having contributed nearly $9.5 million for the performing arts sector in Vancouver since the festival’s beginnings in 1979. Since 2013, the charitable beneficiary of the festival has been Bard on the Beach, Western Canada’s largest celebration of Shakespeare and his literary works. With knowledge and expertise from grape to glass, staff members, participating wineries and agencies – alongside the hundreds of volunteers who make the festival possible - are well-equipped to make sure that every guest who attends the festival are educated, engaged and entertained by their experience.
