Previously Carol had enjoyed making her sourdough flatbread crackers for guests at the couple’s home in Novato, Northern California. On a whim, the pair suggested to the cheese producer, Cowgirl Creamery, that their cheeses deserved artisan crackers. The company instantly agreed, placing an order for 50 cases, and Rustic Bakery was born. The company attributes its success, in a highly competitive industry, to its use of only the finest organic and natural ingredients. The focus is always on simplicity, purity of flavour and allowing the ingredients to shine in their own right. Rustic Bakery sells its products to a wide range of wholesale customers, not only in the USA but in Canada and Japan too. As well as its traditional wholesale range, Rustic Bakery also has a line of Corporate Gift Products. This includes its famous organic sourdough flatbreads, flatbread bites and artisan crisps. Aligning with the company’s values, the range is beautifully but simply packaged and presented. The company’s 4 retail bakery-cafés are located in Novato, Tiburon, Larkspur and the Marin Country Mart. Each café features an enticing farm-to-table menu that showcases local organic produce. And of course, there’s a dazzling array of hand-shaped natural bread, baked in the stone hearth oven. Guests can choose from mouth-watering delights such as focaccia rolls, pain de mie and cheddar sourdough. As well as its cafés and wholesale operation, Rustic Bakery is the trusted catering partner to Sep21169 Rustic Bakery Best Organic Bread Bakery - Northern California & Leading Purveyors of Edible Corporate Gift Boxes - Northern California many of the best-known businesses across the Bay Area.
