Nicola shares an insight into how she came to develop the eatery into the popular dining establishment it is today. “Like many people, I love to eat out but am conscious of my diet and before opening 109 Allerton, I was increasingly frustrated by the fact that I had to make a choice between eating delicious and varied food and eating healthily. “Today, the main ethos at 109 Allerton is to give a healthy twist to great tasting food, so that our customers never have to make that compromise. As part of this, we focus on fresh products that are locally sourced where possible. This includes sourcing our meat from Fine Butchery and buying coffee from Coffee Advocates. We have a good relationship with all our suppliers, which means we can get the best in-season produce and offer our Located on Allerton Road and named after its position in this iconic Liverpool food district, 109 Allerton aims to combine healthy and tasty food. Our signature dish is the Superfood Bowl. It allows the diner to choose their own combination of protein, carbs, greens, cheese, colours, seeds, and dressing. Such a vibrant meal epitomises 109 Allerton: miles away from a boring salad but healthy enough to keep guests coming back for more.” Thanks to the hard work and commitment of her team, Nicola’s vision has come to life, and now the restaurant is a hub for anyone seeking variety and innovation. This inclusivity has set 109 Allerton apart from its competitors, as Nicola highlights. “Supporting a wide range of guests, we offer breakfast, brunch and dinner as well coffee and cakes all day. Since we opened we have found that our breakfast / brunch menu is especially popular, as we offer everything from a full English to overnight oats. Anyone can enjoy our dishes as we have vegetarian and vegan alternatives too that do not sacrifice on flavour. “This inclusive atmosphere has been my focus from the very start, and I am proud that many of our guests are impressed by the variety we offer. Another of my main aims was to offer a child friendly environment and we have a great children's menu, high chairs and colouring packs for the little ones to enjoy. By being so inclusive we are able to welcome a wide variety of guests, and this has helped us to become the success we are today.” Seeking to build upon the eatery’s already impressive success, Nicola has big plans for 109 Allerton, as she is proud to conclude. “Since inception 109 Allerton has come a long way, but we are aware that there is a lot of competition in the food and drink industry, which is why we are always developing new ways to meet customer demands and needs. We are a relatively new restaurant, but we are innovative and have already introduced different ideas such as our healthy juice plan, a takeaway service for both our food and drinks.
