The concept for Alexandra Inn was developed in 2021 when the Wuerfel family, Traverse City locals and lifetime hoteliers, sought out to expand their family hospitality business into its third generation. With more than 50 years of experience managing, developing, and owning independent hotels in their local area, the family wanted to use their background to create a bespoke property that would evoke emotion, deliver personalised service, and provide distinct amenities. From design and architecture to construction and finishing touches, the Wuerfels were extremely hands-on and involved during every stage of Alexandra Inn’s development.
