In partnership with Sunergise out of NZ, Port Denarau Marina has installed the largest solar power plant marina installation in the Pacific. It has installed a 620-panel system, generating 800kWh of power per day or 140 amps of three-phase which powers the workshops as well as a second 400-panel system on the passenger terminal which covers all its air conditioning needs for the building in addition to a 300-panel system installed on the Yacht Club. It is an accredited Clean Marina, too, with Fish Friendly status administered through the Marina Industries Association since 2017 with a three-yearly renewal subject to an independent audit. It understands that it has a responsibility to protect the environment with its operating practices as well as to promote environmentally sustainable boating and fishing. Ultimately, the financial year 2022 was remarkable for Port Denarau Marina. It anticipates that 2023 will be the year for continued recovery and progress, bringing it closer to post-COVID-19 stability.
