Not only is Pipasha one of the longest-established Indian restaurants in the city, it is also one of the most popular. Pipasha was founded by Abdul Hye and Modu Miah. The duo moved to the UK from Sylhet, Bangladesh in 1975 and joined the catering industry, working for several years in various s restaurants. Eventually, the pair felt that there was an increasing demand in Cambridge for a restaurant that would provide quality food with great service at a reasonable price – and so, Pipasha was born. “Our menu is true to traditional Indian and Bangladeshi cooking that everyone loves with elements of contemporary cuisine, unique to Pipasha,” Abdul explains. “We have something for everyone.” In Pipasha’s kitchen, dishes are prepared using the finest seasonal ingredients and employ both classic and modern cooking techniques that have been mastered by the restaurant’s chefs, who are highly experienced and passionate about the food they create. “We believe the passion shows in our food and is what has kept customers addicted to us for two decades! The secret to our longevity is that we keep it simple; unparalleled service paired with delicious food!” As well as serving delicious high-quality food, there’s no doubt that the firm’s success and longevity also comes from its committed team, many of whom have been with Pipasha since its initial opening. The award-winning Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant, Pipasha, offers so much more than tasty cuisine – it also provides an exceptional experience underpinned with a passion for the food it serves. Owner Abdul Hye tells us more in the wake of Pipasha’s recognition as the Best Bangladeshi Cuisine for Collection in Cambridgeshire at the Restaurant and Bar Awards 2021. We are a community-focused restaurant, loved by the locals, we want everyone to feel Pipasha is their home from home. Coming to Pipasha is like coming to see family. You immediately feel comfortable and relaxed.” Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance at Pipasha. The restaurant is clean and modern, with a smartly presented staff-base. Upon arrival, guests are greeted warmly, with many regulars being on first-name terms with the restaurant owners and staff, and the little details taken care of which ensure diners are made to feel like a friend, rather than a customer. “Our team remembers details like a customer’s favourite dish or drink or even a favourite table.” Over time, the restaurant has modernised to keep up with customer expectations and behaviours, such as the introduction of online ordering, as the world becomes more digitally adept – a move which Abdul assures us has been exceptionally popular. Pipasha also offers a customer loyalty scheme, as well as a mobile app for ease of ordering and for staying up to date with the restaurant’s latest news and offers. In celebration of its momentous 20-year anniversary, Pipasha underwent an extensive interior refurbishment. “Our vision is to offer our diners a superior dining experience, and we understand that the interior decor along with food and service is very important,” states Abdul. The outcome is a sleek and luxurious design that is still in keeping with the restaurants intimate and relaxed ambience. A setting where passion has blossomed, families have come together and creativity has grown for over two decades. Contact: Alamin Ahmed Company: Pipasha Restaurant Web Address:
