The Watervale Hotel is an epicurean oasis located a short drive north of Adelaide and Barossa Valley, and enroute to adventure destinations such as the Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsula. Accommodation is provided in the six bedroom Watervale Hotel Guesthouse or one king bedroom Penobscot Farm Cottage and can be packaged with farm tours, degustation dining, and wine masterclasses. The Watervale Hotel features numerous private dining spaces including the 22 seat ‘Hell Hole’, an old pub jail, and a spacious beer garden. Its seasonal menu and fresh produce come directly from ethical suppliers, including Nicola and Warrick’s home, the organic, bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm. The Watervale Hotel strives to be an organic and agriculture learning hub with a constant stream of Chefs and Front of House staff from around the world working alongside its local team. A notable member of the team is Frankie, Nicola and Warrick’s blue Staffy who has been working at the Watervale Hotel as Maître D’og since he was only 8 weeks old. He has inspired the hotel’s Canine Canapé menu – which utilises any leftovers. Furthermore, The Watervale Hotel offers individually plated degustation dining – including doggy degustation – shared plate feast menus, and an evolving a la carte menu. Its premier culinary experiences include a Penobscot farm tour followed by a six-course degustation dinner at the Chef’s Table, and a Clare Valley Wine Masterclass. In addition to the hotel, Warrick and Nicola have created numerous businesses including Watervale General Store and Providore, and accommodation venues Penobscot Cottage and Watervale Hotel Guesthouse. The General Store is a bistro and café renowned for its gourmet breakfasts and delectable comfort foods while the Providore acts as a shopfront for Penobscot Farm. The Watervale Hotel relies on produce from the General Store to create its fresh and tasty food offerings. Accommodation is available at Penobscot Farm Cottage, an 1860’s rustic one-bedroom cottage on the outskirts of Watervale. Guests have access to a variety of exclusive packages that offer gourmet breakfast, a degustation dinner, farm tours, and wine masterclasses featuring vintage Wendouree, Grosset, and Kilikanoon wines. Executive Chef, Nicola shares, “We are regenerative farmers and low waste warriors looking to help heal the Earth, one delicious meal at a time. We try to get as much fresh produce onto the plate as possible, and otherwise we pickle, salsa, ferment, dehydrate or make ice-cream.
