Do you want to serve something a little different this summer? Slightly tired of packing the usual sparkling wine and prosecco into the picnic hamper to enjoy at the polo, opera and tennis? Look no further, award winning Chalkdown Sparkling Cider, is something you can impress your family and friends with, still with the theatre of releasing the cork and familiar sounding pop! Chalkdown Sparkling Cider is a must for your drink’s cabinet.

Chalkdown is a premium luxurious sparkling cider, produced in Andover near Winchester,  using handpicked Hampshire apples, which are hand-sorted, selecting only the purest of fruit. The apples are gently pressed and fermented using Champagne yeasts, applying the ‘Traditional Champagne Method’ – which means it is fermented twice, one in the tank and secondly in the bottle, where it is left to mature for at least a year and a half.

In total, it takes two and a half years to produce each bottle of Chalkdown and when its ready, every single bottle is hand polished and inspected.

Chalkdown has an ABV of 8.3% and is best served in a tulip-shaped glass, allowing you to appreciate the bubbles, taking a sip and allowing a natural explosion of delicate, yet complex aromas to be released and enjoyed, also taking a moment to enjoy its appearance and aroma. Chalkdown is recommended to be served around 6 – 8 degrees Centigrade, cool but not too cold to supress the delicate flavours.

At the beginning of June, Chalkdown was awarded ‘Gold’ at the prestigious 2019 British Cider Championships, adding to the long list of other awards Chalkdown has received including the Trophy at the International Cider Challenge in 2017 and 2018;  1st prize at the Royal Three Counties Show in 2018; and a Great Taste Award in 2018.

Chalkdown is stocked by Fortnum & Mason, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Laithwaite’s, Sunday Times Wine Club, selected Waitrose stores and by independent retailers including; Wine Utopia, The Naked Grape, Leckford Estate Farm Shop, Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa. It can also be purchased directly online at
