Duncan Meerding

Duncan Meerding is a Lighting and Furniture Designer/Maker based in Tasmania, Australia. Much of his work is inspired by nature; directly represented by his award winning Stump Light design, creating a vessel for light from salvaged logs. Duncan’s work is also inspired by the way light performs through and around objects, with concentration on over all form, rather than intense detailing, reflecting the alternative sensory world in which he designs, being legally blind with less than 5% vision concentrated around the peripheral fields. This unique way of designing, results in relaxing light patterns cast from each one of Duncan’s lights.
